Decorations

Students can decorate their rooms (e.g., pictures, posters).
Avoid putting holes in walls.
Students are not permitted to paint their rooms.
Damages to walls will be assessed at move-out.
Window Banner Policy:
- No items may be hung on the outside of any window, including banners, flags, or athletic equipment.
- Items visible from the outside must comply with the University Speech and Expression Policy.

Students may not paint their rooms or apartments.
Requests for painting must be made through the Maintenance Connection system and assessed by Facilities staff.
Students are responsible for painting costs if the damage is due to vandalism or misuse.
Electric lights must not be decorated with combustible materials unless flame proofed. Decorations should not obstruct exits or fire suppression equipment.
Live Christmas trees are prohibited; artificial trees must comply with safety regulations, including being flameproof and secured against falling.
No candles or open flames are allowed in residential spaces.
