Only hot pots and coffee/tea makers with self-contained heating units are allowed in residence halls, provided both the appliance and cord are UL approved.
Other appliances may be used only in full-size kitchens in floor lounges or student apartments.
Refrigerators must be portable and no larger than 3.2 cubic feet, with both the unit and cord UL, CSA, or CPSC approved.
Personal microwaves are not permitted. The only approved microwave in traditional residence halls is the Fridge-Microwave Combo from Breez, delivered straight to your room before you arrive, or students may use community microwaves in common rooms.
Community grills are located in Alumni Square, New Residential Complex, LXR Courtyard, Ida Ryan & Isaac Hawkins Courtyard, Arrupe, Southwest Quad Courtyard, and Village A.
Furniture
No remodeling of rooms or removal of University furniture is allowed. Items may only be used in their intended manner.
Removal of room furniture or common area furniture is prohibited and subject to fines or adjudication.
Beds may not be lofted, but can be bunked with provided pegs and ladders. For non-fitting beds, submit a work request.
