May Transition Housing

Academic year housing ends at 10 AM on Sunday, May 12, 2024. May Transition housing will only be offered to students sponsored by a Georgetown University department (including graduating seniors) or those with on-campus intern housing, Pre-Session, Session I, Full Session Summer housing or students sponsored by a Georgetown department.

Transition Housing will be located in New South. Students will relocate from their spring assignment to New South beginning at NOON on Monday, May 13th.

MAY TRANSITION DETAILS:

• Only applicable to students signed up for on-campus intern housing, Pre-Session, Session I, Full Session Summer housing or students sponsored by a Georgetown department.
• May Transition Housing Dates | May 12 – NOON May 20, 2024
• Rates | $65/night billed to your student account (unless sponsored by a Georgetown department)*
• Location | New South with the exception of graduating seniors
• Transition Date to New South | Noon on May 13, 2024

*If your housing is sponsored by a University Department, please ensure with that department that you are on their May Transition roster. If you believe that you have an extenuating circumstance out of your control that necessitates a need for a late stay, email residentialliving@georgetown.edu for review by NOON on April 5. Documentation will be required. Exceptions will not be made for students who did not plan ahead.

PreSession Housing

PreSession Notes and Eligibility

Pre Session housing is for students enrolled in Pre Session classes at Georgetown. Registration for a Pre Session class is required prior to applying for Pre Session housing.

We assign all students taking summer classes with other enrolled GU students in a double occupancy room in a residence hall only unless a student has an approved accommodation request by the The Academic Resource Center (ARC). 

Students who require a new accommodation request on the basis of their disability, to their housing must apply at least 4 weeks before the start of their summer housing term to allow time for processing. Pre-Session Housing

Pre Session housing is available from May 19, 2024 until June 15, 2024. 

Students with on campus housing for Spring 2024 and will require May Transition housing, please refer to the eligibility requirements detailed above. Additional questions about May Transition should be directed to residentialliving@georgetown.edu.

Eligible students who have completed a summer housing application or received sponsored summer housing that begins June 2nd, may sign up for Pre Session housing that is only from May 19, 2024 until June 2,2024, after which they will transition into their summer assignments. Transition dates may vary for some students however they will be no later than June 2nd.

Pre Session housing assignments will be communicated to students roughly 2 weeks prior to the start of housing. 

If a student selected for a June 2 departure and later cancels their summer housing or does not have summer housing by the start of their Pre Session housing, their request will automatically update to end on June 15, 2024 and the difference will be billed to student accounts.

Pre Session Housing Application 

Applications for Pre Session housing will be available on Hoya Housing from February 26, 2024 at 12 PM (noon) ET until Sunday May 5 at 12 PM (noon) ET. Students who require an accommodation to their housing must apply for a medical accommodation at least 4 weeks before the start of housing to allow for processing time.

Sign Up Instructions: Upon logging into the Hoya Housing Portal (new window), select “Forms” from the top menu, use the drop down menu to choose the “Pre Session Housing Form.”
