2025 Commencement Housing

Friends & families of graduating Georgetown students

Graduating seniors living on campus for spring 2025 semester may remain in their spring housing assignment until 10 AM ET, Monday, May 19, 2025.

Residential Living offers low-cost housing options for friends and family of graduating Georgetown students during May Commencement.

Unfortunately, we do not offer individual nights and we cannot accommodate early or late stay requests.

Reservations open on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at 12 PM ET (noon) at the following link.
Payment (Visa & MasterCard only) is due in full at time of registration. 

Online reservations close Friday, April 25, 2025 at 12 PM ET (noon).

Residential Building & Room Access

Georgetown University has a digital lock system called SwitchTech/BestDormakaba, across residence halls. Building access is through mobile GoCard and room access is through digital keys via the SwitchTech/BestDormakaba app.

In order to utilize the systems, all commencement guests reserving commencement housing must have a smartphone device in order to access their rooms. 

All registered guests will receive 2 emails regarding access roughly 2 weeks prior to arrival. Please complete the steps in both to ensure you are able to access the building and your room upon arrival:

1. Please activate your Mobile GoCard: This will be your access card into the building during your stay
2. Please claim your SwitchTech registration token. This will give you a registration code as well as instructions on how to set up your phone as your room key.

Due to the security features of this system, guests and current students may NOT reserve commencement housing utilizing their @georgetown.edu email address.

Registration Process

• The online registration form is active: 12 PM (Noon) ET on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 to 12 PM (Noon) ET on Friday, April 25, 2025
• An email confirmation is sent after the application is completed and room assignment information is emailed in early May 2025 to the email address specified on registration form.
• Guests attending for the same graduating senior will be housed in close proximity to each other.
• Guests will not be limited to one room per reservation and may reserve multiple rooms at once
• All guests must be registered in our system in order to have digital access to the building and room. After completing the application you will receive an email confirmation with instructions on how to add guests to your reservation.

Accommodations

• Housing assignments are made on a first come, first serve basis. Commencement building locations are subject to change.
• Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate specific building requests or assign guest rooms to spaces outside of residence halls designated for Commencement housing.
• Each room is air-conditioned and double occupancy with two twin beds.
• Linen is provided: 1 blanket, 2 sheets, 1 pillow, 1 pillow case, 1 towels/person. Unfortunately, extra linen is not available due to the high demand for rooms.
• No housekeeping, linen exchange, or irons/ironing boards are available.
• Shared floor bathrooms.

Cancellations & Refunds

All cancellation requests are subject to a fee depending on the date of notification as follows and must be emailed prior to the deadline to summerhousing@georgetown.edu. All dates below have a 12pm(Noon) ET deadline. 

1. Full Refund Cancellations Dates: Must be received four weeks prior to arrival.
   
   Commencement Housing:  Tuesday April 15, 2025
2. Any cancellations received three weeks prior to the following arrival dates forfeits 50% of payment.
   
   Commencement Housing: Thursday April 24, 2025
3. Any cancellations received two weeks prior to the following arrival dates forfeits 75% of payment.
   
   Commencement Housing: Thursday May 1, 2025

Cancellations with written notice submitted one week or less prior to check-in, no shows for 48 hours without notice, early departures, or taking possession of the key and then not staying, forfeit the full amount and are not eligible for a partial refund.
