Residential Building Renovations 2020

The Office of Residential Living, in partnership with Planning & Facilities Management & Auxiliary Services, worked to utilize the vacancies of many on campus residential buildings to execute renovations and improvements to better the experience of students when they return to campus. Below is a summary of the work in our on campus buildings to inform your decision making as you plan to come to campus. 

Traditional & Suite Style Residence Hall Housing

Darnall Hall 

  • Removed carpet & replaced with vinyl plank flooring in all student rooms 
  • Refinished built in desks veneer 
  • Replaced flooring in all shared floor hallways and lounges 
  • New common room furniture 
  • Refresh laundry room with new flooring, lighting and paint 
  • Removed mailboxes and installed new building lobby seating & study space. 

Harbin Hall

  • Harbin Student Room

  • VCE Student Room

  • Complete renovation of entire building including 
    • New bathrooms finishes and fixtures with walk in showers 
    • New air handler units 
    • Removal of built in furniture and new modular bedroom furniture installed including new mattresses 
    • Renovation of common rooms including kitchens
    • New common room furniture 
    • Renovation of lobby to create additional student student & socialization space

Apartment Style Housing

Henle Village 

  • Removal of existing flooring in living room & kitchen and installation of new vinyl plank flooring 
  • New living room, kitchen & bedroom furniture in each apartment 
  • New mattresses in each student room
