Housing Application Information

The 55 H 2026-27 Housing Selection Application opens at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) on Monday, February 23, 2026, via Hoya Housing. Students intending to live at 55 H St. for the 2026-27 academic year must complete the Housing Application via Hoya Housing including:

Please Note: Each apartment space has a designated HOA length. By selecting the space you are agreeing to the set dates and fees of the space.

Signing the HOA, is a financially binding commitment to live at 55 H St.for the agreement period. Please submit the application if you are fully committed to living at 55 H St. for the upcoming academic year.

Shuttles

GUTS bus driving in front of the US Capitol

Shuttles to the Hilltop Campus, grocery stores, and other locations in D.C. pick up right outside of 55 H. No need to wait outside in the cold – you can see the bus from our warm lobby.

Rates

*NOTE: Rates shown below apply to the academic year only. For summer rates, please view the Summer Housing page. Rates are charged in July for fall and December for spring. All students will be assessed a $200 deposit that will be refunded, minus any damages, after the close of the last semester they occupy campus housing.

Mail

Each apartment has an assigned mailbox for which residents receive a key. USPS delivers all letter mail to the building. There is a package room where residents can pick their packages up with the Front Desk staff.

Student Support

Students from all programs and schools live at 55 H, and may have a different point of contact for resources like student life, CAPS, student health, etc. Please work with your respective schools for these resources.

Resident Fellows (RFs) assist and advise students residing at the Capitol Campus. RFs assist and advise residential students with responsibilities similar to those of a Resident Assistant.

Community Directors oversee the Resident Assistant staff within their residential community and develop and implement community educational plans.

FAQ’s

Starting at 12 PM (Noon) ET on Monday, February 23rd, 2026, the 2026-27 Housing Occupancy Application will be available.  A Resident must be a registered full-time graduate, professional, or approved undergraduate Georgetown University student in good academic and financial standing to be eligible for housing at the 55 H Street Apartments.  Applications are accepted via the Hoya Housing portal.

55 H St. NW features Studio, 2-bedroom, 3-bedroom and 4-bedroom apartments. 

The 2-bedroom, 3-bedroom and 4-bedroom units offer individual bedrooms for each of its occupants, with shared kitchens, living rooms and bathrooms. 

Approximate square footage of units:

  • 4 bedroom: 825-873 square feet
  • Studio: 183-190 square feet
  • 2 bedroom: 471-532 square feet
  • 3 bedroom: 733 square feet

Residents have the flexibility of choosing between two Housing Occupancy Agreement (HOA) options when they self-select into a designated room space on the Housing Application in the Hoya Housing Portal.

  • Academic Year HOA (9 months): August 22, 2026, to May 16, 2027
  • Calendar Year HOA (12 months): August 22, 2026, to August 8, 2027

We do not allow for shortening or extending of HOAs here at 55 H St. unless otherwise offered & communicated from our office. Please plan accordingly for your booking and when selecting a room space, as the HOA length is financially binding.

Free University Shuttle

There is a free H St. Georgetown University Transportation Shuttle (GUTS) to support our residents traveling to and from the Hilltop campus. The tentative schedule includes shuttles running daily from 6:30 a.m. to 10:15 p.m. M – F and Saturday 7:05 – 10:20pm.

What other ways can I get to and from 55 H St.? 

There are additional GUTS Bus Shuttle routes, i.e. Rosslyn, Dupont Circle, Arlington

55 H St is less than ½ mile to Union Station, with access to Amtrak and Metro trains

Is there parking available at 55 H St.?

No. For information on parking availability on or near the Capitol Campus, please reach out to GU’s OTM (Office of Transportation Management) for details on parking and/or resources.

Each apartment has an assigned mailbox for which residents can retrieve their letter mail from the front desk during operating hours, 8 am to 10 pm, M-F. USPS delivers all letter mail directly to 55H St. There is a package room where residents can pick their packages up with the Front Desk staff during operating hours, (M-Sat: 10 am to 10 pm, and Sunday – Closed)
