
Commencement Housing for Families & Guests
We’re excited to welcome the friends and families of graduating Hoyas to campus for May Commencement May 2026! Residential Living offers affordable on-campus housing for guests attending Commencement weekend. Staying on campus is a convenient and budget-friendly way to celebrate your graduate while experiencing the heart of Georgetown.
- Reservation Opens: Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at 12 PM ET (noon)
- Reservation Closes: Friday, April 24, 2026 at 12 PM ET (noon)
- Payment: Visa and MasterCard only, due at time of booking
We are unable to offer single-night stays or accommodate early arrivals or late departures.

Cancellation and Refund Policy
All cancellation requests must be submitted as a written email to summerhousing@georgetown.edu by 12 PM (Noon) ET on the dates listed below:
- Full Refund: Cancellations received by Tuesday, April 14, 2026 (four weeks before arrival).
- 50% Refund: Cancellations received by Thursday, April 23, 2026 (three weeks before arrival).
- 25% Refund: Cancellations received by Thursday, April 30, 2026 (two weeks before arrival).
- No Refund: Cancellations received less than two weeks before check-in, no-shows for 48 hours without notice, early departures, or taking possession of the key and not staying.

Housing Features
- Room Setup: Double occupancy with two twin XL beds.
- Linens Provided: One blanket, two sheets, one pillow, one pillowcase, and one towel per guest. Unfortunately, extra linens are not available due to high demand.
- No additional amenities: Housekeeping (turndown service or daily cleaning), linen exchange, and irons/ironing boards are not provided.
- Shared floor bathrooms:
- Bathrooms are located outside of rooms and shared with other guests on the same floor.
- Each floor has up to three bathrooms, and they are designated separately for men and women to ensure privacy and comfort.
Room Assignment Details
- Assignments are first come, first served. Building locations are subject to change.
- We cannot accommodate specific building requests or assign rooms outside of designated Commencement Housing.
- After registering, you’ll receive an email confirmation and instructions on how to add additional guests to your reservation
- Room assignments will be emailed in early May 2026
- Guests attending for the same graduating senior will be housed near one another
Reservation Details
- Guests can reserve multiple rooms under one reservation
- After completing the application via Hoya Housing, you’ll receive an email confirmation and instructions on how to add additional guests to your reservation
- All guests must be registered in Hoya Housing to receive their digital access credential. Unregistered guests cannot access our on-campus spaces for security purposes.
- You cannot use a Georgetown.edu email address when reserving for Commencement Housing due to security features of the system.
- Current GU students can not reserve on behalf of family or friends
For Graduating Seniors
Students living on campus for the Spring 2026 semester may stay in their current housing assignment until 10 AM ET on Monday, May 18, 2026.
Residential Building & Room Access
Georgetown’s residence halls use Mobile GoCard for building entry, to make your stay safe and seamless. Guests will use the app for access.
Guests will use the GoCard app for building access and a physical key to open their individual room.
Next Steps:
- Activate via GoCard: All registered guests will receive one email about building and room access two weeks before arrival. Be sure to activate your Mobile GoCard – This serves as your digital access card to enter the building.
- Pickup Your Physical Key: Once you’ve enrolled in GoCard, you’re able to pick up a physical key at check-in. Note: You must be registered in GoCard before you can pick up your physical room key.
Important: Guests will be given a physical key for room entry.
All registered guests will receive one email about building and room access two weeks before arrival. Be sure to activate your Mobile GoCard – This serves as your digital access card to enter the building.
