What makes a Georgetown summer special?
For Taylor Moses—Summer Resident Assistant for Byrnes Hall—it all starts with community.
For Taylor Moses—Summer Resident Assistant for Byrnes Hall—it all starts with community.
The best part of being an RA is the opportunity to act as a bridge.
Taylor Moses
As an RA in Byrnes, Taylor helps create the welcoming environment that summer interns experience every day. While residents may only see one RA at a time, she is quick to recognize the larger team behind the community.
“While being an RA to one floor sounds like a solo event, I am most proud of the amazing team of students and staff that give Byrnes life.”
Community is at the center of everything Taylor does.

Whether she’s planning events, sending newsletters, or connecting with residents one-on-one, Taylor strives to make sure every person who calls Byrnes home feels that sense of belonging.
I understand the importance of feeling like you belong. Everyone deserves to feel welcome, appreciated, and celebrated in the places they live.

One of her favorite parts of the summer is the unique energy that fills the building as interns pursue opportunities across Washington, D.C.
“Over the summer, Byrnes serves as Intern Housing. Every morning, just like I do, students are getting ready to further their professional lives and pursue their passions. Around 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., the GUTS bus is filled with blazers, lunchboxes, and sunglasses. Future politicians, bankers, and world changers in the same space.”
For Taylor, that atmosphere represents Georgetown at its best.

“I love that I get to live in a space like that. It’s Georgetown at its very best.”
As a returning RA, Taylor is always looking for ways to grow and bring new ideas to her community.
“I am always striving to be better. Whether that is working out extra hard in Yates, learning about niche topics through podcasts on commutes to work, or finally learning how to cook. I bring that same attitude to being an RA.”
That passion for growth, connection, and community helps create the warm, supportive experience that makes summer on the Hilltop memorable for interns and guests but also for the residential living community as well.
Thank you, Taylor, for helping make Byrnes Hall a place where students feel welcomed, supported, and connected throughout the summer.
