This student leader gives summer work a deeper meaning

Every conference experience starts with a relationship. And for Conference Lead Lydia Nathenson, that’s the best part of the job.

From helping clients reserve housing to coordinating last-minute changes and leading group check-ins, Lydia is often one of the first people conference guests meet when they arrive on campus. Her favorite moments are those face-to-face interactions, where she can welcome groups to Georgetown and help them feel at home from day one.

The way Lydia approaches her work is guided by two values: honesty and consistency. She believes in setting clear expectations, following through on every commitment, and being a reliable partner for every client. Those same values shape her experience as a Georgetown student, where she values authentic relationships and steady, sustainable growth.

Whether Lydia is exploring neighborhood restaurants, enjoying the views of the Potomac from campus, playing guitar on her balcony, or spending time with friends who have become neighbors, she sees Georgetown as more than a university. It’s home. That genuine appreciation shines through in the way she introduces guests to campus and helps them experience the community she’s grown to love.
