Resident Assistants (RAs) are full-time undergraduate students who live on campus and work with the Office of Residential Education to create a vibrant and supportive community.
RAs are key in fostering a welcoming environment, organizing engaging programs, and helping students connect with one another. They enforce residential policies, mediate conflicts, and provide guidance on academic or personal matters. Trained to handle various situations, RAs are prepared to respond quickly and effectively to emergencies that may arise, ensuring the safety of all residents. RAs are essential in enhancing the student experience and creating a positive living environment.
Resident Assistant On Duty
A Resident Assistant (RA) is here to help seven days a week, from 8 p.m. to 9 a.m., throughout the academic year (which includes some holidays). The RA on duty is available to assist with various needs outside regular office hours, such as lockouts, submitting emergency facility work orders, addressing policy questions, responding to emergencies, and ensuring a friendly presence in the building. Students can find contact information for their RA on Duty posted within their specific residence community.
A Friendly Reminder: there won’t be an RA on duty during winter break when the residence halls are closed to students.
