The Residential Living team is committed to partnering with students to identify safe and appropriate housing, including a voluntary option for Gender Inclusive Housing. Gender Inclusive Housing (GIH) seeks to provide an environment that is welcoming to all students regardless of gender identity and/or gender expression, including members of the LGBTQ+ community.
How to Apply on the Hilltop Campus
Returning Students
Returning students can apply for GIH via the housing application in Hoya Housing during Housing Selection. Returning students opting into GIH will be able to form groups with other students opting into GIH in the Group Formation phases, allowing the opportunity to self-select into an available room on campus together.
New First Year & Transfer Students
New students (first year & transfer) can apply for GIH via the housing application in Hoya Housing. This happens during the summer after being accepted to Georgetown. New first year students seeking GIH live together in gender inclusive rooms on the same floor in a first year residential building. New transfer students seeking GIH are housed with returning students who also have chosen GIH based on their incoming class year status.
